Cwm Arian Renewable Energy  29th July 2015

Cwm Arian Renewable Energy has applied for planning permission for a community benefit, community owned wind turbine at Trefawr Farm, Llanfyrnach.  100% of profits from the sale of clean energy from the turbine will be spent on
COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
e.g. Cylch Meithrin, YFC, community halls and playing fields
LOCAL ENTERPRISES
creating more local jobs and supporting small businesses
LOCAL RESIDENTS
improving the quality and efficiency of local homes

Our application and appeal for 2 x 72m turbines failed in 2012/13, so we have taken into account the only reason for objections to that application (visual impact), and have now applied for only 1 x 500kW turbine of 63m in the same location.  So far we have had no objections from statutory consultees, and our local councilor seems very supportive, as do most of the local people we have spoken to - so we are really hopeful.

Your support will definitely make a difference to the application, so if you do support this project (and therefore community energy in Wales), we'd be so grateful if you'd take the time to write a letter.  We are hoping that Pembrokeshire County Council will decide on our application by September, so we are encouraging supporters to write letters before the end of August.

All support letters should state that they are 'in support of planning the application, reference: 15/0305/PA', and should include the date and your name and address.
